Have you recently chipped or broken your tooth? If so, there is no need to panic. With the help of Dr. Doris Madrigal and our dental team, your oral health will be restored as soon as possible. For now, we recommend improving the situation by doing the following things:

– Save the pieces: It’s best to save as many pieces of the tooth as possible so the dentist can try and restore the tooth. Then, rinse the mouth with warm saltwater and wash the broken pieces. Do your best to keep the pieces in a safe place.

-Control the bleeding: Control the bleeding by applying a piece of gauze pad to the injured area for about 10 minutes or until the bleeding subsides.

-Reduce swelling: Reduce the swelling and relieve the pain by icing outside the injured area in 30-minute intervals.

-Visit your dentist: See your dentist as soon as possible and don’t forget to bring the broken pieces of the tooth with you when you come into the office.

Dental emergencies can be terrifying, but panicking won’t help the situation, so please stay calm. For more information and tips, please feel free to call 773.252.5757 now and talk to a member of our team. The more you know about chipped and broken teeth in Chicago, Illinois, the better!
